"No cell is so isolated that it is shut to the Lord, none. He is there, he weeps with them, he works with them, he hopes with them, his paternal and maternal love reaches everywhere. I pray that each one may open his heart to this love. "Pope Francis, 2013
St Kateri has been supporting Kairos Prison Ministry for 11 years. Kairos is an international ecumenical non-denominational prison ministry bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our parish ministers serve state prisons in Virginia, currently Sussex I, Greensville and Lawrenceville State Prisons. Over the course of one year, Parishioners, trained by KAIROS, conduct two “inside” 4-day programs (one in the Spring and one in the Fall), two 2-day programs, monthly reunions and prayer groupings. The parish is asked to support the ministry by baking cookies for the inmates, praying for them and their ministers, and occasionally with financial support. As with all pastoral and justice ministries, it is a total church effort. Thannk you for your support!
For more information about this misintry, please contact Dave Kenneally.

"Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me."
Matthew 25
People Offering Resources Together Volunteers work a night or two during the course of the winter months at an assigned church cooking and serving meals to the homeless.
We must protect creation for it is a gift which the Lord has given us, it is God’s present to us; we are the guardians of creation. When we exploit creation, we destroy that sign of God’s love. To destroy creation is to say to God: “I don’t care”. And this is not good: this is sin.
Pope Francis
Jesus said to love God and love your neighbor.. Pope Francis' encyclicals "Laudato Si" (Care for Creation) and "Fratelli Tutti" (Human Fraternity and Solidarity) are the focus of this ministry that works to keep St. Kateri in step with the care of our planet and each other.

"But it shall not be so among you. Rather whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave. Just so, the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 20: 26- 28
